Letting young people lead the way
Youth Assemblies provide a platform for young people and marginalized groups to get organized and build capacity to influence government policy, at both a local and national level. The Youth Assemblies concept builds on local mechanisms for dialogue and works through consultative parliamentary sessions, where young people have a chance to raise their concerns and actively shape a culture of democracy.
The program aims to increase young people’s voices through confidence and capacity building. This includes giving young people the opportunity to see the effects and results of the issues they have brought to attention in their local communities.

Assembly locations
Currently, the Oslo Center is active in assisting three youth assemblies in Kenya – the Kwale Youth Assembly, Lamu Youth Assembly, and Mobassa Youth Assembly.
