Statement: Remembering His Majesty King Harald V

The Oslo Center joins the people of Norway and the international community in mourning the passing of His Majesty King Harald V. 

For more than three decades, King Harald provided a steady, reassuring presence at the heart of Norwegian society. Beyond his constitutional duties, he became a profound moral anchor for the nation, guiding the country through moments of both celebration and deep crisis with remarkable warmth, humility, and a self-effacing humor that endeared him to generations. Whether representing Norway on the world stage, acting as a global ambassador for international cooperation, or stepping forward as a comforting voice during times of national grief, he always helped Norwegians see the best in one another and the world.
