Political Prisoners Released in Burma

Well-known comedian Zarganar is reported among the political prisoners released by the Burmese government on Wednesday morning.

The prisoner release, which is taking place according to a decree issued by President Thein Sein on Tuesday that ordered the release of 6,359 prisoners, began Wednesday morning and will reportedly be carried out over the next couple of days. It is not certain how many political prisoners will be released.
