The Oslo Center is seeking a Senior Advisor for our head office in Oslo, to oversee and lead on advocacy dialogue in Norway and international, as well as lead on programme development in Ethiopia, Uganda and Georgia. The Senior Advisor will work with the head office in Oslo, and closely coordinate and work with senior advisor and team leader for local staff in the Oslo Center Kenya. The position reports to the Executive Director and is based in Oslo, Norway, with some travel to project countries.
On the International Day of Democracy, The Oslo Center would like to take the opportunity to issue a reminder that the freedom and peace cultivated by democracies should not be taken for granted. It is with sadness that it has observed Belarus's current state and encourages its leadership to uphold the importance of democracy. During the closing ceremony of the Conference, after two successful days filled with energy and very interesting and fruitful conversations, the Paris Peace Forum Scale-Up Committee announced the 10 most promising governance project that would be part of the Scale-Up initiative for 2020. This honour includes proactive support and mentorship in the year to come. On June 1st, The Oslo Center and Bjørknes University College established a cooperation agreement. Both institutions work on international issues tied to democracy, good governance and human rights, and we feel that a partnership will drive both thematic and administrative synergy, says Kjell Magne Bondevik, who founded the Oslo Center 12 years ago along with Einar Steensnæs, and Sveinung Lunde, Executive Director of Bjørknes University College.
