Mr Kjell Magne Bondevik had the honour of meeting Ms Aung San Suu Kyi in her residence in Yangoon, June 22.
The President of the Oslo Center, Kjell Magne Bondevik, was in Nairobi early June. The main purpose of the trip was to implement the project the Oslo Center together with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) will conduct during the period June 2011 – November 2012. The project will help prepare the political parties for the elections next year on the basis of the new Constitution.
The arrest of Mladic is of great importance, but the work towards achieving reconciliation and real inter-ethnic cooperation between the people on the ground in Bosnia-Hercegovina (BiH), will need to continue as before. The Oslo Center with partners have together developed a universal code for protection of holy sites. As part of this project, we are conducting a pilot in BiH.
